KARASTAN FLAVORS COLLECTIONS WITH COORDINATE PALETTES AND PROGRESSIVE PATTERNS

DALTON, GA, July 13, 2008—Karastan, a company with classic roots, enhances timeless designs with new palettes and progressive flavors. Several coordinates have been added to established lines in addition to unique patterns that beautifully utilize collection colors in creative ways.

Villa Veneto-Ivory (2200-207) from Karastan’s Antique Legends™ Collection
Last market, Karastan introduced Villa Veneto, an award-winning pattern visually textured with a “cross hatch” effect that gives the rug an authentic “antique” look. Reminiscent of the weathered walls of Italian villas, Villa Veneto is colored in saturated shades of terra cotta, amber and peacock blue.

Making its debut this summer is an ivory coordinate that appeals to customers looking for a lighter feeling rug. The perfect complement, Villa Veneto-Ivory features an open ground that makes its dusty neutral accents sing. Colorful punctuations of peacock blue are a winsome touch that flatters its field and enliven its terra cotta border.

Villa Veneto-Ivory is woven of fully worsted New Zealand wool in 5.9 x 9, 8.8 x 10 and 8.8 x 12 sizes with an estimated retail of $1,399 for a 5.9 x  9.

Toscano (#549-15009) from Karastan’s Ashara Collection
The glorious beauty of brown is celebrated in Toscano, a coordinate to Ravenna from Karastan’s Ashara Collection. Like coffee lightened with cream, Toscano counterbalances Ravenna’s rich demeanor with soft brown striations of color. Both share amber and cherry accents, though Toscano also boasts distinguishing highlights of cypress green.

Toscano’s Axminster weave is made of fully worsted New Zealand wool in sizes of 5.9 x 9, 8.8 x 10 and 8.8 x 12. Estimated retail for a 5.9 x  9 is $1,299.

French Quarter from Karastan’s Sierra Mar Collection
French Quarter is a striking pattern-on-pattern design that is new to Karastan’s Sierra Mar Collection. A mélange of colors creates the stunning striated underlay, which is topped with an ornamental design, inspired by the hand-forged ironworks of New Orleans. The style is offered in two colorways from the Sierra Mar palette: Henna (#35505-33017)—spicy tones of henna and browns and Bluestone (#35505-33016)—a mix of robin’s egg blue and limestone.

The woven construction of all Sierra Mar rugs is of pure New Zealand worsted wool. Sizes include 2.5-x-4, 2.5-x-8, 2.5-x-12, 3.3-x-5.6, 5.6-x-8.3, 8-x-10, 8.6.-x-11.6 and 9.6-x-13.2.

Estimated retail is $999 for a 5.6.x-8.3.

Plum Blossom from the Studio by Karastan Artworks Collection
Transitional florals are heating up the floors this summer. One of the hottest sellers is Plum Blossom from the Studio by Karastan Artworks Collection, a captivating arrangement of budding branches that shimmer with viscose accents on a wool loop-pile ground. The extraordinary success of Plum Blossom has spawned the addition of an 8-foot round (estimated retail $899) and a large 9.6 x 13.6 size (estimated retail $1,999) in Karastan’s Robin’s Egg Blue (#74200-00217) and Mocha (#74200-00221) colorways. Estimated retail is $549 for a 5 x 8.
