Karastan’s French Check Spices Up
Bon AppÉtit’s Supper Club and CafÉ
DALTON, GA, October 20, 2009—Karastan’s French Check Coffee Check carpet set the tone for the energized and fun street-level café at Bon Appétit’s third annual “pop-up” Supper Club and Café, which was the place to dine and be seen for one week, September 20-26, in busy New York.
Karastan teamed up with Bon Appétit to turn a vacant spot on the corner of New York’s 57th Street and Sixth Avenue into the place to be for celebrities, star chefs and culinary aficionados. Renowned chefs such as Daniel Boulud, Emeril Lagasse, Nate Appleman and Cat Cora held cooking demos and book signings as well as prepared signature recipes to the delight of the public and VIP guests at lunch and during special events in the evening.
Evening events included the 125th anniversary celebration of Playbill Magazine, an occasion that brought out a galaxy of Broadway stars and featured a performance by Bernadette Peters; a celebration for the premiere of the movie The Boys Are Back, starring Clive Owen; and a fund-raiser for the Joyful Heart Foundation, which was founded by actress and Karastan “Statement Maker” Mariska Hargitay to help the survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
French Check, woven of strong Karaloc loop-pile construction and luxurious New Zealand wool, was chosen to take on this hungry crowd of discerning diners because it combines touchable softness, bounce-back stamina and fresh style.
